Welcome to the 2021 Columbine Middle School track season. The season begins on May 3rd and concludes on May 20th. Athletes must have a current physical (within the past 12 months) on file, proof of insurance and medical consent on file, and pay a $50 fee in order to participate. The money goes towards transportation to meets, uniforms and other expenses. All of these forms can be picked up from the main office. If you have any questions, please contact the Columbine office.
Everyone who comes out for track will be given the opportunity to compete in meets. In order to compete, students must be present at all practices, unless otherwise excused by a coach. Missing practice jeopardizes competing in the next meet. Having more than two unexcused absences from practice can result in the student being removed from the team. Students must also remain eligible in order to compete. Eligibility checks are done every Monday. To remain eligible, a student must have no F’s in any class. The tentative dates of the meets are as follows:
Practice Schedule:
Unless notified, all practices will be held at the Montrose High School Track from 4:00-5:15, Monday-Friday. Students are expected be dressed and ready for practice by 4:00. We will meet in the home side bleachers on the far left. If a meet falls on a Tuesday, we will not have practice after school. If your child does not have a physical, they are required to come to practice, but cannot participate. Having more than two unexcused absences from practice can result in the student being removed from the team. If you have an excused absence, please contact the Head Coach, Loryn Leonard at loryn.leonard@mcsd.org.
